On August 14, 2025, Beijing launched the World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG) — the first-ever Olympic-style games for humanoid robots. The opening ceremony lasted 46 minutes and featured a stylish tech-focused show. The program included an interactive dance battle with participating robots, dancers, and musicians.
The finale of the opening ceremony was a fashion show where robots and models showcased collections of Chinese Guochao fashion with tech elements. The event was attended by flags, robot teams, international delegations, and students.
From August 14 to 17, 280 teams from 16 countries and more than 500 robots competed in 26 categories and 538 events, including sports matches and applied scenario challenges. The event attracted 282 international journalists from 97 publications.
The main competitions were open to visitors from Friday through Sunday.
