After upgrading from an iPhone 13 Pro to an iPhone 16 Pro, I expected better camera performance and longer battery life. However, the new device's battery drains just as fast as the previous model's.
After investigating, I discovered that Telegram is the primary source of battery drain. Without actively using Telegram, the iPhone 16 Pro holds its charge until evening. However, constant interaction with the messenger significantly cuts that time short.
Telegram on the iPhone 16 Pro consumes three times more energy compared to other apps. The same impact is observed on Android devices. The causes likely include high video quality and background processes.
Hopefully, developers will address this issue in upcoming updates, and the problem isn't related to something beyond background activity — such as hidden blockchain mining.
