At the WWDC 2025 conference, developers were presented with changes to the iOS 26 SDK that could change the approach to mobile applications. These innovations may signal the imminent release of a foldable iPhone.
One of the significant updates is automatic app adaptation for any screen size, eliminating black bars or improper scaling. This solves a long-standing problem of app incompatibility with new device form factors.
Experts speculate that Apple is developing a foldable iPhone with two screens. The inner screen with a 14.1:10 aspect ratio would feature a hidden camera. The outer screen with a 14.6:10 ratio would have a camera notch and Touch ID on the side panel.
