Apple has expanded its list of obsolete devices, adding Mac, iPad, and iPhone models. Notably, the cylindrical 2013 Mac Pro has been added to the list 12 years after its release. Other models include the 13-inch MacBook Air from 2019, the 2019 iMac, the 2018 iPad Pro in both 11 and 12.9-inch sizes, and the iPhone 8 with 128GB of storage.
Devices receive obsolete status when they've been discontinued for more than five years. These models can only be repaired if parts are available. After seven years, products are moved to the discontinued category, making official repair impossible.
The discontinued list also includes Apple router products: AirPort Express (2nd generation), AirPort Time Capsule (2TB and 3TB), and AirPort Extreme 802.11AC, for which official repair is no longer available.
