Starting in 2026, Apple will release iPhones on a new schedule. Flagship iPhone 18 Pro models will be unveiled in the fall, while base iPhone 18 models will follow in spring 2027. This is tied to the launch of the foldable iPhone, also planned for a fall unveiling.
The new release schedule includes a fall launch for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone 18 Air, and the foldable iPhone. The more affordable iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will follow in the spring. This approach could ensure a more even distribution of demand for the company's devices throughout the year.
Manufacturing trials for the affordable models will take place in India. This decision will allow Apple to reduce its dependence on Chinese manufacturing capacity and optimize its supply chains.
